Community comes together for Demolition Party at Fire Station 2
Lido House, in partnership with R.D. Olson Development and Fire Station 2, successfully launched the next stage of their expansion, which will include five new luxury cottages to their beloved Newport Beach property. This exciting development is building upon Lido House’s reputation as a premier coastal retreat, offering guests an elevated hotel experience with thoughtfully designed accommodations. To commemorate this milestone, the community gathered for a special event – the Fire Station 2 Demolition Party – on Monday, March 3 to honor Fire Station 2’s remarkable 70+ years of service before officially commencing the demolition process. Following a blessing given by Pastor Cindy Voorhees of St. James Episcopal Church, attendees heard from Newport Beach Fire Chief Jeff Boyles and Newport Beach Mayor Joe Stapleton, who shared reflections on the fire station’s legacy and the significance of this transition.
In addition, demo party host Bob Olson, founder of R.D. Olson Development, rallied the crowd and provided tray-passed hors d’oeuvres and an open bar to keep the celebration lively.
