Residence Inn by Marriott in Wailea, Maui, is set to open next month, and local businesses are expecting a boost in sales and are hiring more staff.

Maui County issued a $1.45 million building permit to the California-based developer of the hotel, R.D. Olson Development, in February 2015. The hotel is a 200-room, four-story property on 6.3 acres at Walea Ike Drive and Wailea Ekolu Place.

A nearby restaurant, Matteo’s Osteria, has posted a job advertisement on Craigslist. The restaurant says in its ad that it expects the new hotel to “dramatically increase our sales and customer volume.” It is looking for bussers, a hostess, a server and a food runner.
